I think I'm going to do a series of posts of albums/artists that saved my life. I'm going to try and do one every couple of days for the next few weeks. There'll probably be some stuff I've uploaded before (the Format, anyone?), but most of it should be new. Expect: Ani Difranco, Sage Francis, Bright Eyes, Buddy Wakefield, The Format, Bitch and Animal, Rilo Kiley, Bikini Kill/Le Tigre, Poe, Hanson, and Plumb among others.
This album, however, is not one of them.
I was at this party a couple of weeks ago for my friend Cami's birthday, and some scene-ish guy put his ipod on to a song by
The Medic Droid. We started talking about bands, concerts, whatever, I don't really remember? But I remembered this band, so I looked them up, and they turned out to be a) myspace famous and b) local, and c) produced by Ryan Breen of
Back Ted-n-Ted*, who I just happened to see live a few weeks ago and who are AMAZING. If you ever get the chance see Back Ted-n-Ted, seriously, DO IT. ANYWAY, I bought the album from itunes, liberated it from it's locked state, and uploaded it for you.
This is -- dance music for teenies. Sounds like: Metro Station but more self aware, uber "scene," ironic-funny.
*If anyone wants to rip me the files from their myspace I would pretty much love you forever -- the software I usually use to do so has FAILED to work lately, so I am sadly without illegal music.
** I kind of hate their album art, though.
